Jolie James is an emerging screenwriter, playwright and actress, developing character-driven stories for screen and stage. Her work sits comfortably between comedy and drama, with a strong focus on family dynamics, cultural identity and class divides.
Writing from her perspective as both an African American and Australian woman, Jolie is drawn to honest stories, told with warmth and humour - writing to make you think, and laugh, all at the same time.
She is currently developing Gold’s Roofing, a workplace comedy series for screen, alongside ongoing original projects across both drama and comedy, stage and screen.
