Vanessa Scammell is one of Australia’s most exciting young conductors with recent credits including Mozart’s The Impresario (Hindemith Sydney Conservatorium), The Phantom of the Opera (Australian Tour 2007-2008, Asian Tour), Damn Yankees (The Production Company, 2008 Helpmann Awards, Fiddler on the Roof, Titanic, South Pacific (Adelaide, Sydney), Cats (Beijing, Taipei, Athens, South Korea) and Into the Woods (IMG/Equity Fights Aids). She was also the Musical Supervisor for the South African production of Cats. Vanessa was the joint winner of the Brian Stacey Award for emerging Australian conductors in 2008 and is currently studying her Masters of Music in Conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium. |
