Russell Goldsmith is a sound designer, composer, and audio engineer. His sound design for Exit the King has been nominated for a Tony Award for its 2009 Broadway season. Recent sound design and compositional work includes Optimism (Malthouse Theatre/ Sydney Theatre Company), Big Sky Town (the Arts Centre / St Martins Youth Arts Centre), Vamp (Malthouse Theatre/Sydney Opera House), Through the Looking Glass (Malthouse Theatre/Victorian Opera), The Children’s Bach (Chamber Made), Sleeping Beauty (Malthouse Theatre Company), Exit the King (Malthouse Theatre Company/Company B Belvoir), It Just Stopped (Malthouse Theatre Company/Company B Belvoir) and Slow Love (Chamber Made Opera). Other recent projects include his Sound Design and Composition for the City of Melbourne ‘Laneway Project’ commission and the radio documentary A Packet of Seeds for the BBC London. Russell won the 2007 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Sound Design/Composition for his work on Exit the King, and the 2002 Green Room Award for Best Sound Design for Slow Love.
