DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Richard Michalak Richard Michalak is a highly sought after Director of Photography with a reputation for tackling complex challenges in a creative, fast and friendly manner. Working around the world, he has the particular skill of making 16mm look like 35mm. As well as working on countless television and cinema commercials for a wide range of major brands, he has been Director of Photography on numerous feature films. The Australian film Newcastle (2008), shot on 16mm and digitally blown up to 35mm, had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Other feature credits in the States include Gordy (1995), The Discoverers (first IMAX film shot of Steadicam), Guilty As Charged (1993), 3 Ninjas and Double Trouble (1992). In 1998, Richard was the second unit DoP for What Dreams Comes True starring Robin Williams and Dark City starring William Hurt. He also works shooting commercials.
